Involvement in Pas de Couture: R&B Songstress
The Chicago native has been singing since the tender age of four. Growing up listening to such musical influences as The Isley Brothers, The Spinners, Patti Labelle and Stevie Wonder, ElisaLatrice naturally gravitates to incorporating a simplistic yet powerful structure and style within her music.
At a young age, ElisaLatrice began singing in her church choir, this became the training ground, which led to the development of her vocal skill, confidence and stage presence.
At age 18, ElisaLatrice was cast in the rap opera, The Great Nitty Gritty, a musical created by singer, songwriter, playwright, actor and political activist Oscar Brown Jr. Throughout her time spent at Columbia College in Chicago, ElisaLatrice participated in many talent shows and open mics throughout the Windy City.
Currently, ElisaLatrice works for the nationally syndicated court television show, Judge Mathis, but when she is not in the office she is in the studio working on her mixtape project. Although, the music industry is constantly evolving, ElisaLatrice’s passion, drive, and faith have allowed her to remain true to her personal expression and musical style.
